Most of his abilities revolve around the Buddhist sixth paths of reincarnation. He claims that he’s been through all six of them, thus giving him the six abilities that they consist of:

First Skill: Realm of Hell: He can create illusions from an undending nightmare. It requires external stimuli or a sixth sense/inner eye to get out of/see through.
Second Skill: Realm of Hungry Ghosts: He can use the abilities of the person he possesses.
Third Skill: Realm of Animals: Allows him to summon deadly animals; i.e., snakes.
Fourth Skill: Realm of Asura: Increases his battle skills.
Fifth Skill: Realm of Humans: Increases his battle aura and strength; called by him the ugliest of them all.
Sixth Skill: Realm of Heaven: Lets him control others.

The number of the skill he’s using will appear in his right eye.

He has a gun loaded with possession bullets that, if the person he wants to possess has been cut by his blade, lets him go inside the body and take full control of. He can control up to several people at once with this. Mukuro can’t feel any pain from wounds that he receives in the body and uses that to his advantage.
